Scottish Clans of the South, Inc. (S.C.O.T.S.)
About the S.C.O.T.S.

The purpose of this organization is to:

  • Educate people in the culture, heritage and contributions of the Scots and Scots-Irish
  • Promote the perpetuation of Scottish culture, traditions, customs, history, literature and music
  • Provide venues for the recognition and celebration of their rich legacy through educational, performance, and/or athletic events that encourage local, national and international interest and participation.

The FOOTHILLS HIGHLAND GAMES, originally held at Blue Ridge Community College in Henderson County, NC in the fall of each year was established to fulfill the S.C.O.T.S. mission. Membership in SCOTS is open to anyone who displays an interest in and is supportive of this organization and its purpose.

In 2006 the games moved to Jackson park in Hendersonville, having outgrown the available space at the college.
