Chaplain of the Games
Dr. William "Bill" Peter Campbell

"It is a great honor to participate as chaplain of the Foothills Highland Games. The process of becoming involved has caused me to look at my own roots, and to appreciate the great heritage of the Scottish people. I have become interested in the close connection between Scottish History and the Christian (Presbyterian) faith. The two have been forged together through time, and can provide strength to each other in years ahead as the legacy of the Highlander continues to make its mark on the world."

Rev. Dr. William Peter Campbell
First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville
699 North Grove Street
Hendersonville, NC 28792

We are blessed to have "Bill" Campbell with us for the fifth running year of our Foothills Highland Games at Blue Ridge Community College.

Bill came from the Washington DC area to Hendersonville, NC where he became pastor of First Presbyterian Church in early 2001. He is a graduate of Princeton Seminary (M.Div) and Fuller Theological Seminary (D. Min.), and was ordained for ministry in 1986. He and his wife and three children love the mountains of Western North Carolina. His favorite past-times are tennis and biking. He joined us as Chaplain of the Foothills Highland Games in 2002.

Presented By First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville

Join with us for the proud playing of traditional Scottish hymns and the presentation of the tartans for blessing led by the Montreat Scottish Pipes and Drums. We will be honoring the Scottish heritage of the Presbyterian Church and of the many families within the church and those who wish to join us from the Scottish Community. Designed to recognize the faithfulness of families who have passed their Christian faith and love of country down through the generations. For information call the church office @ 828 692 3211
